Planning the perfect wedding ceremony

Name Giving Ceremony

Name giving ceremonies are as old as time it’s self. People have been performing these ceremonies in different forms to introduce a new child into the family; in many cultures a son was not legal until his father named him in a ceremony.

Naming ceremonies as we know today are fairly new, being non religious and conducted by a civil celebrant, unusually at the parent’s home, which allows them to publicly affirm their love for the child in front of family and friends.

Let me personalise your name giving ceremony, there are many things we can do, such as having a time capsule where you place inside small gifts, photo’s, letter’s or hand written card’s to be opened on either the child’s 18th or 21st birthday. Or how about planting a tree, or lighting a candle. The ceremony normally takes 20-30 minutes with poems and readings, and while the ceremony has no legal status, I provide all involved with a beautiful certificate to remember the day, and what a wonderful way to introduce a new child into the world.
